Banking to the Side

Good evening from a very rainy Nottinghamshire!

It is certainly Autumn weather now, my favourite time of year with the gorgeous yellows, browns and orange tones that fill the trees with their lovely coppery hints. The trees are only starting to turn here, but I shall certainly be spreading my creative wings once again once the oranges are in full bloom in my local woodland.

Writing-wise I have nothing much to report for this entry, my focus entirely on my society Presidential role and the exciting involvement with The Literate Earth Project, so I have been utilising my time attending meetings instead of putting pen to paper and writing fictional pieces. However, with my uni course beginning again this week, I shall be sure to have more creative musings on the way very soon!

In other news, and despite the downpour of storm Alex, my mother and I decided to go on a social distancing adventure and visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park last weekend. The odd downpour did not dampen our spirits. In face we hardly noticed that it was raining since we were so entertained by the nearby wildlife. Besides, anything is possible in Autumn when armed with a cup of tea and a woolly hat. Honestly I would recommend that people visit zoos in colder or rainier weather as the animals were much more active than in the heat of summer. Granted, we were not able to see the new red pandas or the smooth coated otters, but we managed to see all the other animals. My personal favourites were the tigers, who came really close to the viewing area. You can see my excitement, and totally not intentional tiger scarf, below:

Of course, animals serve as great inspiration, so no doubt I shall be using some of my memories and photographs for a piece of work in the near future - make sure to look out for that! (Please note this is not a sponsored post but a simple appreciation and exploration entry)

That’s all for this week. Sorry that this entry is so short, but Presidency is quite the task with Welcome Week beginning and a new cohort of students ready to plunge into the awesome course, as well as organising my birthday plans for tomorrow - 22 eek! Despite the obvious restrictions, I am very much looking forward to this next academic year. Onwards and upwards!

Until next time, when I’ll officially be a year older! :O
