Maintaining Altitude
It’s been a while but I’m back!
I figured that with my Masters course fast approaching and my part-time job starting up again soon that I would post fortnightly blog posts rather than weekly. This way, not only can I concentrate on my course reading and working my shifts, but I can sit back and create more engaging and interesting entries. So make sure to watch this space every other Monday for the next update!
Back to business… what have I been up to these last two weeks? Just lately I have had quite the burst of inspiration for my latest story. If you follow me on Instagram - click here to see my page! - you’ll see that I am gradually getting through my word count, with my current draft on 22,000 words and only a quarter of the plot actually finished. Perhaps one of the only good things to come out of lockdown is the opportunity to actually sit down and focus on writing, each paragraph and every chapter is another milestone achieved and another step closer to the completed first draft. I shall be revealing more about my current project in time, but for now I am concentrating on utilising my free time to write as much as I can before my university term starts up again. Not only this, but I want to have my first draft completed by the end of this year before I will have to concentrate on my Creative Writing dissertation, allowing me time later on to edit and redraft elements of my story ready to submit to…
Spoilers!
Sorry but you will just have to wait and see what my plans are for my work in progress. *wink*. I shall be keeping you posted on my blog so be sure to keep an eye out for that!
In other news, I have been slowly but surely making plans for my freelance work. You may have seen on my social media that my business cards have arrived; I am so pleased with how they turned out! For now, I am currently brainstorming potential project ideas and moving onto the next step for other ventures. I am in the process of creating an Etsy site, creating products for like-minded writers and avid readers such as myself. I will link this site on my social medias once it is up and running. I am really looking forward to this next step in my writing journey, as well as taking you along with me. After all, the future is what you make it, so why not make it a good one from the start.
These are all the titbits I shall be tempting you with this week. Thank you to everyone who has decided to follow this blog and, with it, my growing writing experience. As always, make sure to follow my social medias and keep up to date with my latest ventures.
In the next entry I shall be revealing my tips to achieve that optimum writing zone, from my preferred equipment and technology set up.
Keep safe everyone and keep on writing!
